Kerns - Roses 2006 list
The roses that we carry at the nursery are carefully selected for the hardiest varieties that we can find.  Some of them are old fashioned shrub roses grown on their own stock which keeps the roots stronger and more resistant to winter kill.  Other shrub roses are strong, vigorous and high rated varieties for our environment.  Climbing roses, hybrid tea, floribunda and miniature roses are among the most worthy we can find for longevity and performance for zone 4 and some for zone 5.  Also we include flyers at the nursery that help guide you to proper care, feeding and winter protective measures that will improve your growing conditions, ultimately yielding attractive roses.  Here is our list for this year.  Bear in mind that our numbers are very limited in certain varieties.

FUNNY FACE ROSE  SMALL SHRUB pink & white bicolor 2-3 t X 1-2 w  painted bi-color, semi-dbl. flowers cover plant through out summer into fall -compact, disease resistant, very hardy, plant in groups
GRANDMA'S BLESSING ROSE hybrid tea dusty pink 18-24 t X 18-24w 3-4" dbl flowers cover plant & blooms recur during the growing season - disease resistant - great as small specimen, container or in a group

KNOCK OUT ROSE  SHRUB cherry red 2-3' t X 3-4' w one of the hardiest, most carefree roses.  long season of bloom with masses of sticking bright red flowers - resistant to Japanese beetles
MACY'S PRIDE ROSE hybrid tea creamy white 4' t  X 2-3' w lemon yellow buds open to beefy creamy white flowers - disease resistant -  recurrent bloom - very hardy on its own root stock
MISS ALL AMERICAN BEAUTY ROSE  hybrid tea deep hot pink 4' t X 3' w large flowers with stunning color and a strong fragrance.  strong and vigorous grower.
MISTER LINCOLN ROSE  hybrid tea  red 4' t X 3' w a dependable rose with rich velvety red flowers with strong damask scent through out the growing season
NEWPORT ROSE  SHRUB salmon pink 2-2.5' t  X 3' w a town and country selection large old-fashioned dbl. blooms on an orderly and neat plant - disease resistant - hardy
PINK PEACE ROSE  hybrid tea deep pink 3-4 t X 2-3 w captivating bright deep pink flowers with a strong scent. vigorous and prolific.
QUEEN ELIZABETH ROSE  grandiflora clear pink 5' t X 3' w dependable profusion of long stem bunches of clear pink flowers.
RUBRIFOLIA GLAUCA ROSE  hardy landscape pink 5-6' t X 5-6' w Attractive purple foliage with a tree-like shape and small pink blooms.  Very nice specimen in a garden backdrop.  DIFFERENT!
RUBY  ROSE - meidland deep red 2-3 t x 3-4 w a wonderful low mounding hedge with clusters of small dbl flowers - ideal for shrub, perennial and mixed beds 
SALMON IMPRESSIONIST ROSE hybrid tea salmon-pink 3' t X 2-3' w beautiful dbl. salmon blooms all summer - disease resistant - grown on one root stock -  one of our easy elegance roses
SUNSPRITE ROSE  florabunda yellow 4' t X 3' w top 10 rose in the world! Many blooms with a sweet licorice scent - dense compact form with disease resistant foliage
THE FAIRY ROSE  small shrub pink 2-3 t X 3' w a tough reliable performer with compact habit & small dbl pink flowers - excellent choice for flowering low hedge
various ROSE  miniature by label 4' t X 3' w miniature roses work great in pots for special locations.  Find many selections of appropriate pots in our pottery shed and flower shop.
WHITE ROSE  meidland pure white 1.5-2' t X 4 w ideal flowering ground cover on slopes and banks - weeps over walls profuse in June - continues blooming -dense dark green foliage
WILLIAM BAFFIN ROSE  CLIMBING deep pink 8 -10 t or w large clusters of dbl, deep pink blossoms on graceful arching spreading canes - disease resistant - extremely hardy on its own root
