This project
presented two different challenges: a house
with stunning views of the Catskills Mountains, that were to be
preserved at all costs, and an exposed area, windswept, dry and
parched by the hot summer sun.

These photos show the rock work and plant material that leads
from around the side and to the rear of the house. This
was an important area to the family because of the beautiful view.
We made the space more inviting by incorporating a step stone stair,
a winding pathway and retainer walls. We incorporated a rock garden
along the exterior of the walkway and added a birdbath and sitting
bench in the area.
